Introducing Sharecare’s 2024 summer cohort of all-stars on National Intern Day

Every summer, Sharecare provides current students in a degree-seeking program and recent graduates – from either four-year college or graduate-level programs – with the opportunity to gain work experience through paid internships. Past interns have gone on to pursue prestigious graduate programs, work for nationally recognized employers, and a few have even joined Sharecare as full-time employees!

In honor of National Intern Day, we’re thrilled to introduce our 2024 cohort of interns at Sharecare, who make us confident in the leaders of tomorrow. Working across several departments at our company, this year’s crew hails from a variety of hometowns, life experiences, universities, and programs – bringing their unique talents and perspectives to gain real-world experience in their chosen disciplines alongside Sharecare’s teams.

We’re grateful for the many contributions of our interns: Arya, Ashley, Brett, Charles, Cindy, David, Reese, Victoria, and Wade – and we hope you’ll continue reading below to learn more about their favorite part of the internship experience, as well as their post-internship goals and plans!

Arya (Soundarya) Anand

  • Hometown: Hyderabad, India
  • University: University of Houston-Clear Lake
  • Program: Data Science Master’s Degree
  • Sharecare Team: Health Information and Data Services
  • Favorite part of the internship:
    • My favorite part of being in Sharecare’s internship is creating an AI tool that helps read all the files and create a user-friendly experience. This project has allowed me to apply my technical skills to develop a solution that enhances the efficiency and accuracy of medical records management. Additionally, collaborating with my team and receiving valuable feedback has been an enriching experience.
  • Post-internship goals:
    • Upon completing my Master’s in Data Science this December, my primary goal is to secure a full-time position where I can leverage the skills and knowledge I’ve acquired through my academic studies and practical experience during my internship. I am eager to contribute to a dynamic team, applying my expertise in data analysis, AI tool development, and process optimization to drive impactful solutions and innovations within the organization.

Ashley Chen

  • Hometown: Jericho, NY
  • University: New York University
  • Major: Computer Science and Data Science
  • Sharecare Team: Life Sciences, research and optimization
  • Favorite part of the internship:
    • My favorite part has been the chance to learn about the company’s operations beyond the scope of my team’s work. This experience has undoubtedly enriched my understanding of the various roles within a company and the essentials for success.
  • Post-internship goals:
    • I hope to attend graduate school and attain a Master’s in Data Science.

Brett Clinton

  • Hometown: Tarrytown, NY
  • University: Lehigh University
  • Major: Accounting
  • Sharecare team: Life Sciences, sales enablement
  • Favorite part of the internship:
    • My favorite part has been the welcoming environment and valuable connections I am forming with the employees at Sharecare. Everyone is very nice and always willing to offer valuable advice.
  • Post-internship goals:
    • After graduation, I want to follow the CPA route of accounting.

Charles Papagiannopoulos

  • Hometown: East Haddam, CT
  • University: Yale University
  • Program: Master of Business Administration
  • Sharecare Team: Partner Relationships
  • Favorite part of Sharecare’s Internship:
    • Working with Partner Relationships I’ve been able to drive activity across 180+ partner organizations and uncover winning opportunities that align well for both the partner and for Sharecare. Additionally, there has been great exposure to all corners of Sharecare’s business with tremendous opportunity to connect with many different colleagues!
  • Post-internship goals:
    • Coming from a FinTech background, it’s been exciting to see the opportunity (and need) for change in the healthcare industry. I’ve loved working strategically with partners to find new and unique ways to unlock value. My goal is to continue this strategic work, helping organizations realize their fullest potential. 

Cindy Wu

  • Hometown: New York City, NY
  • University: Binghamton University
  • Major: Business Administration, Concentration in Marketing
  • Sharecare team: Life Sciences, account management
  • Favorite part of the internship:
    • My favorite part of the internship is working together with Account Managers and Performance and Delivery Specialists to launch campaigns and monitor their pacing to make adjustments needed to meet delivery quotas and to ensure campaign’s success.
  • Post-internship goals
    • My educational goal after my internship is to take business analytics classes after adding it as my second concentration towards my major to learn more data analytics tools and skills and to become more proficient at reading and analyzing data reports and spreadsheets as well as to become more data driven that will be resourceful in my future career post-graduation. 

David Liu

  • Hometown: Maynard, MA
  • University: Brandeis University
  • Program: Master of Science in Business Analytics
  • Sharecare team: Business Planning and Provider Operations
  • Favorite part of the internship:
    • My favorite part of Sharecare’s internship is getting the opportunity to work hands on with EMR data, knowing that the work we do to streamline our processes contribute towards improving patient outcomes.
  • Post-internship goals:
    • I’m excited to continue learning the intricacies of the healthcare industry, aiming for a career where I can leverage data-driven decision-making to strive towards making meaningful improvements in healthcare.

Reese Ingram

  • Hometown: Napa, CA
  • University: Cornell University
  • Major: Industrial and Labor Relations
  • Sharecare team: Compensation Team
  • Favorite part of the internship:
    • Getting to learn more about the Human Resources field and experiencing what it is like to be part of a professional team that cares about its employees and their success.
  • Post-internship goals:
    • After my internship, I will return to college for my Junior year with the hopes of securing another internship in the Human Resources or Finance fields, with the goal of eventually pursuing a Master’s degree in a related field.

Victoria Hernandez

  • Hometown: Willits, CA
  • University: California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo
  • Major: Nutrition
  • Sharecare team: Blue Zones Project Mendocino
  • Favorite part of the internship:
    • Being able to help make an impact on my community while getting to work with such amazing and inspiring people!
  • Post-internship goals:
    • I hope to finish getting my bachelor’s degree at Cal Poly SLO and in the future attend a physician assistant program where I will continue to expand my knowledge and help those around me.

Wade Shepherd

  • Hometown: Atlanta, GA
  • University: University of Georgia
  • Major: Finance
  • Sharecare team: Finance/Accounting Team
  • Favorite part of the internship:
    • The highlight of my Sharecare internship has been working with incredible people around me. Shadowing my team has provided me with valuable business experiences and insight into Sharecare’s daily operations.
  • Post-internship goals:
    • After completing my internship with Sharecare, I plan to finish my final year at the University of Georgia and graduate from The Terry College of Business. With the knowledge I’ve gained this summer at Sharecare, I am excited and eager to learn more as I pursue a career in finance.
