Spotlight: Maura O’Neill, director, strategic accounts, and Sue Mizglewski, director, strategic accounts

This month, we’re shining the spotlight on not one, but two directors of strategic accounts: Maura O’Neill (pictured on the left with her husband Dave, and sons Liam and Wyatt) and Sue Mizglewski (pictured on the right with her husband Jon, and sons Ryan and Evan). These longtime collaborators have helped shape Sharecare’s Life Sciences team for the past 19 years—from campaign strategy to client relationships and cross-functional leadership, they bring care, consistency, and impact to every step of the journey.

We asked them to reflect on their roles, their growth, and what continues to inspire them at work and beyond. Maura joined the company through RealAge in 2006 (acquired by Sharecare in 2012), while Sue came on board the same year through Quality Health (acquired by Sharecare in 2014). Outside of work, Maura lives in San Diego with her husband and two sons—and loves any excuse to be near the water. She also won a rap contest last year (performing Snoop Dogg lyrics, no less). Sue is based in New Jersey and enjoys running and reading in her spare time. She loves the Philadelphia Eagles and was thrilled about their recent Super Bowl win.

Read on to hear how Maura and Sue have grown with Sharecare over the years, supporting Life Sciences clients through strategy, implementation, and everything in between —and what keeps them inspired.

What is your official title and what do you do in your role?

Maura: As a director of strategic accounts, I’m responsible for maintaining strong client relationships, making sure our programs run smoothly, and that we’re meeting KPIs and delivering on what our contracts promise. I also lead our account management team, which means I’m focused on ensuring they have everything they need to succeed. My goal is to support both our clients and my team with equal care.

Sue: I’m a director of strategic accounts in the Life Sciences division, and I co-lead the account management team with Maura O’Neill. Our role is all about implementation—we step in after the sale is made and ensure that the program delivers on expectations. That means overseeing everything from getting campaigns live, meeting KPIs, and making sure the client feels supported throughout. We’re the face of Sharecare to our clients, and we take that responsibility seriously.

What is a day on the job like for you?

Maura: No two days are ever the same—which is part of what I love about the role. I spend most of my time communicating with agency partners—coordinating assets, reviewing program performance, and answering questions as they come up. I also work closely with our internal teams—integrated marketing, pricing, sales, and ops—to make sure everything stays on track. It’s fast-paced and always evolving, but that’s what keeps it fun.

Sue: Every day brings a different mix. We work with advertising clients to run direct-to-consumer programs. We deliver ads and content that connect patients with the treatments that are most relevant to their health needs—whether that’s through banner ads on Sharecare’s website or elsewhere across the web. My day involves a lot of coordination, ensuring deliverables are met, and collaborating with internal teams to get creative or innovative content live.

Do you have a favorite project that you’ve worked on?

Maura: One thing I’ve been excited about recently is the rollout of new HCP-focused products. It’s a newer area for us, and the integrated marketing team has done a great job developing solutions that align with where the market is going. Our clients are always thrilled when we bring something new to the table, and it’s rewarding to be part of that momentum.

Sue: I’m especially proud of programs where we’ve had both a business win and a human impact. When we hit our KPIs and the client is happy, that’s a big win. But what makes me most proud is knowing that behind those metrics are people—patients—who are getting connected with brands that could help them.

What are some of the common or biggest challenges that you face on the job? What’s your approach to overcoming them?

Maura: Timing is one of the trickiest parts of the job, especially when things are out of our control—like waiting on medical/legal approvals or campaign tags. I’m the kind of person who likes everything to be buttoned up, so it can be frustrating to wait on something I can’t directly fix. In those cases, I remind myself to stay focused on what can be done and trust the process to catch up.

Sue: One of the ongoing challenges is balancing Sharecare’s goals with the specific requirements of each client’s clinical needs. But I work with such a strategic and collaborative team that even the complex challenges feel manageable. Everyone’s rowing in the same direction, and we always find a way to meet in the middle and build something that works for all sides.

What was your path leading up to joining our company?

Maura: I actually started at RealAge in 2006 as a sales and marketing assistant. Over the years, I moved into a junior account manager role, then ad ops. When Sharecare acquired us, I was laid off briefly in 2012—but two months later, they called and asked me to come back. I’ve been here ever since. It’ll be 19 years this April, minus that short break!

Sue: I joined the company 19 years ago, right after college. I had a short stint in consumer packaged goods and then started working at a company called QualityHealth in 2006. We were known primarily for lead generation, and in 2014, we were acquired by Sharecare. That merger was a turning point—Sharecare brought a new level of content strength and innovation that expanded our offerings and transformed what we could do.

Favorite career highlight? Favorite Sharecare highlight?

Maura: Being promoted to director two years ago was a huge moment for me. I’ve been through a lot of transitions, but this role has felt like home. And honestly, the real highlight is the people—I’m surrounded by incredibly smart, passionate teammates who genuinely care about doing great work.

Sue: The biggest highlight has been the evolution. Even after nearly two decades, there are still new things to be excited about. When MJ (Joachim, EVP and general manager of Life Sciences) joined our division a couple years ago, we added entirely new solution areas—point-of-care, HCP solutions—and it’s opened up experiences I’ve never had before in my career.

What’s the best part of your job?

Maura: The relationships. I love building trust with clients and being someone they can count on. A former manager once told me I’m “compassionately direct,” and that’s something I’ve embraced. I’ll always tell you the truth, but never in a mean way. I’m here to help people succeed—whether that’s a client, a colleague, or someone on my team.

Sue: Hands down, it’s the people. I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by a team that’s strategic, positive, and always willing to put in the work. Everyone has a shared goal—to make the program successful for the client and for each other—and that energy is what keeps me going.

Can you tell us a little about your family?

Maura: I live in San Diego with my husband, Dave, and our two boys—Liam and Wyatt. My family moved around a bit—I spent time in Denver before coming back to Southern California. Dave coaches their baseball team, so weekends can get a little wild, but it’s fun. We love being outside, and we go to SeaWorld a lot. I try to find ways to bring adventure into their lives whenever I can.

Sue: I live in New Jersey with my husband Jon and our two boys—Ryan and Evan. Same as Maura, my husband coaches so weekends are busy but we enjoy all things outdoors in the summer, especially going to the beach. We also love to travel together and see as much of the world as we can!
