“Sharing care” during the holidays
The holiday season is always an exciting time at Sharecare. Although “sharing care” is engrained in what we do every day, one of our favorite holiday traditions is getting out in our communities and expressing this in a different, yet impactful way.
This year, Sharecare employees across the globe gave back in ways that were most meaningful to them and others in their communities. In California, Florida and Tennessee, our employees set forth to provide grocery items and Thanksgiving meals to low-income families in their area. Across their communities, they fed more than 200 families impacted by food insecurity. And in the same spirit of giving, several other Sharecare “elves” adopted families and provided gifts and personal items for children in need. Baltimore-area employees coordinated more than 15 shopping trips for the Salvation Army Giving Program, and in Hawaii, the team assembled holiday gift baskets in partnership Hope Services. And after donating coats and clothing to members of the community impacted by homelessness, the Atlanta team was fortunate not to only prepare a holiday feast for residents at Covenant House Georgia – a shelter that helps homeless youth transition to security and independence – but they also joined them for the meal. After dinner, they even had a little fun by hosting a gingerbread house-decorating contest. Several kids shared that it was the first time they ever had the opportunity to do so, bringing a sweet end to a delightful visit.
Year-round, I’m so proud that we not only help people enjoy happier, healthy lives as part of our mission, but also demonstrate the importance of connection, caring and giving back to others when we can. As part of the extended Sharecare family, I hope you’ll join us in sharing care with others this holiday season. We can’t wait to share even more with you in the new year.
