Positioning Sharecare for continued growth & profitability: Key leadership appointments
by Brent Layton, chief executive officer of Sharecare
Since taking the reins as CEO on January 2, I’ve felt great enthusiasm from our employees, Board members, partners, and clients – and that positive energy has only fueled my excitement to be a part of this incredible company. From getting to know many of our amazing employees to meeting with several of our long-time customers and representing the company at the 42nd annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference, the last few weeks have been exhilarating – and we’re just getting started.
Like many of you, I have followed Sharecare with great interest for many years. I believe deeply in the company’s mission and vision, as well as its technology and products, and consistently have been inspired by our founder Jeff Arnold’s visionary leadership. As he continues to be deeply engaged as executive chairman, I am thrilled to be able to run the ball alongside him.
As Jeff and I laid out in our presentation at J.P. Morgan, in 2024, our focus will be on growth into new avenues of revenue and building stronger bonds with long time clients. With that and as I begin my fourth official week as CEO, I am incredibly excited to announce two executive leadership appointments to support Sharecare’s continued growth and profitability.
Shannon Bagley has been appointed to chief operating officer at Sharecare. Most recently a senior advisor at McKinsey & Company, Shannon has nearly 25 years of experience leading multi-billion-dollar mergers and acquisitions; steering restructurings that improve performance and drive bold change and transformation; and implementing culture strategies that advance business goals and fuel innovation. Previously with Centene Corporation, where we worked together for nearly 20 years, she served in a variety of executive roles, including chief administrative officer; chief people officer; president and CEO of Home State Health, Centene’s Medicaid managed care health plan in Missouri; and chief audit executive.
Also, Elizabeth Colyer has been promoted to chief commercial officer of Enterprise at Sharecare, where she is responsible for both sales and account management. Previously Sharecare’s executive vice president of account management, Elizabeth also leads the evolution and commercialization of the Community Well-Being Index, the most comprehensive assessment of community health in the country, which informs well-being and social determinants of health transformation efforts across employee, member, patient, and community populations. With Sharecare since 2014, she has held various roles in the organization that have enabled the company’s data-driven approach to creating better outcomes.
Putting the right senior leadership in place is a key next step in our growth, and both Shannon and Elizabeth possess the adaptability, tenacity, analytical skills, collaborative spirit, and work ethic necessary to accelerate strategic and operational growth initiatives at scale for Sharecare. In addition to Shannon’s extensive government healthcare expertise, she understands the needs of decision makers at large employers we sell to and work with every day. Combined with Elizabeth’s creative thinking and in-depth understanding of our business and the capabilities of our platform, I am confident that, together, they will help us position Sharecare for continued growth and profitability.
Please join me in welcoming Shannon to the Sharecare family and congratulating Elizabeth on her well-deserved promotion.
