The Future of Voice
By Jeff Arnold, CEO and Chairman
So far in 2016, Google and Microsoft have made announcements about expanding their IoT product offerings to challenge current market leader, Amazon, in the voice activated digital assistant for the home. The prevalence of voice technology is set to double in the next five years and become a $133 billion market by 2017.
At Sharecare, we recognized early on the importance of voice when we launched our unique, frictionless voice technology in February of 2015. Currently, our voice app is being tested by 50,000 people in a crowd-sourced clinical trial to prove that when a person is provided with real-time awareness of their actual stress, people can improve self-awareness, personal relationships, well-being and, ultimately, their overall health. Over the last few months, we also used this innovative voice technology to analyze the Republican and Democratic candidates during the presidential primary debates to help people better understand the candidates’ actual mindsets and stress levels.
Even in this trial version, the Sharecare voice app has been winning accolades recently with recognition at the TAG Southeastern Software Association Impact Awards in the SSA Standout: Mobile Health category, as an Appy Awards Finalist in the Health & Fitness category and receiving a Gold Stevie® Award in the Experimental & Innovation App category at the American Business Awards. Over the next few months, we will continue to integrate our voice technology into Sharecare’s comprehensive platform to help people improve their health without disrupting their daily routine.
