Stepping through the digital front door

Navigating the complexities of healthcare in the U.S. is overwhelming. And even for those who are fully aware of their health insurance benefits, accessing and utilizing the services available to them can still be difficult. Over a decade ago, it was those challenges that our founder, Jeff Arnold, set out to tackle head-on, driven by a mission to simplify and democratize healthcare for everyone, and consolidate “all your health in one place” through the Sharecare platform. 

Sharecare’s digital-first, platform-based approach – referred to in the present day by many in the industry as the “digital front door” – is purpose-built to streamline and personalize healthcare and benefits navigation for every person, no matter where they are in their health journey. Through Sharecare’s digital front door, we help our customers – who include some of the country’s largest employers and health plans – provide a truly unified and consolidated user experience, at scale, where members can access all their health benefits information, well-being programs, and digital therapeutics, along with educational, content organized by specific wellness themes or health pillars. 

We make it easy for people to directly access their insurance details across medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision, including their ID cards; balance and transaction history for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs); cost trackers; claims details; and a tool for finding cost-effective and high-quality in-network providers. Sharecare also offers an additional layer of benefits navigation support through our multi-modal family and clinical advocacy services. 

We also make it easy for our customers by providing each of our employer and health plan clients with concierge-level support from our dedicated team of account managers and engagement marketing specialists. Based on the unique goals of each client, we provide recommended best practices to streamline communication, reduce confusion, and increase awareness which in turn helps increase user engagement, improve risk management, reduce healthcare costs, and consolidate vendor management. In fact, among clients that leverage our recommended best practices for engagement, 60-65% of active members engage with Sharecare’s centralized benefits hub, and 85% of those click and explore their benefits further. 

Delivering on our promise to our customers – which include many Fortune 500 companies – also demands that we be nimble and responsive to our clients’ product needs and feedback. From introducing new incentives and rewards design and developing new tactics for benefits navigation, to supporting white-label platform development or troubleshooting an issue, our customers are an innovation inspiration to our product team and very much central to our mantra that we are “all together better.”
