Shannon Bagley
Shannon Bagley is chief operating officer at Sharecare, where she brings nearly 25 years of experience leading multi-billion-dollar mergers and acquisitions, steering restructurings that improve performance and drive bold change and transformation, and implementing culture strategies that advance business goals and fuel innovation.
Most recently a senior advisor at McKinsey & Company, Shannon has unique expertise designing and executing innovative human capital solutions that enable business leaders to activate enterprise-wide initiatives at scale and with speed. Prior to McKinsey, she had a successful 20-year career at Centene Corporation, where she cultivated a unique vantage point and perspective through multiple expansions of one of the fastest growing public companies during this time. While at Centene, Shannon navigated transactions in varying sizes and scale – from organic start-ups to joint venture mergers and massive acquisitions – serving in a variety of executive roles, including chief administrative officer; chief people officer; president and CEO of Home State Health, Centene’s Medicaid managed care health plan in Missouri; and chief audit executive.
In addition to leading change management, communications, and culture strategy of several multi-billion-dollar acquisitions, Shannon led the transformation of Centene’s talent model, aligning business and people strategy, and modernizing HR. She founded Centene University, the flagship leadership development program and the company’s first leadership model. In focusing on advancing the people agenda at scale, she significantly improved employee engagement, cultural health, people leader, and DEI effectiveness. Her impact surpassed Fortune 100 benchmarks and received best-in-class industry recognition.
As a respected board advisor, Shannon successfully partners with CEOs and Boards to accelerate strategic outcomes and growth. She has extensive board experience working collaboratively with Centene’s Audit and Risk, Talent and Compensation, and Nominating and Governance Committees alongside her executive responsibilities. Shannon began her career as a CPA, working with Arthur Andersen and KPMG, LLP.
Named to HR Digest’s “Most Influential HR Leaders Power List” in November 2020, Shannon holds a BS in Accounting from Millikin University and an executive MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
