Closing the 2020 Sharecare Awards in a season of gratitude
At this time of year, many of us are reflecting on what has made us grateful in the months past, and for many fortunate individuals, being well and in good health often top that list. Even if our bills of health aren’t perfect, we often recognize the precious gift of waking to a new day and having the opportunity to care for ourselves and others in some way.
But how often do you consider what empowers you in caring for your health? Through our annual Sharecare Awards, I’m privileged to get a first-hand look at the creative content and programs that are making a difference in how we learn, understand, and manage our own well-being, and also support that of others. And in such a year as this, the life-changing impact of the meaningful works honored through the Sharecare Awards, which celebrate excellence in digitally driven health and wellness programs and productions, is more salient than ever.
This season and all year-round, I’m especially grateful for the extraordinary individuals and organizations who have dedicated their talents and efforts to creating a healthier world for our benefit. And I’m not alone – in addition to our team at Sharecare, we were joined by several of today’s most recognized figures in thanking the creators and celebrating these exceptional works. Among the many individuals who expressed their gratitude were award-winning journalist and bestselling author Katie Couric, basketball legend and NBA Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins, and world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who gave a moving musical tribute to the frontline workers caring for our health against the COVID-19 pandemic.
As we wrap our 2020 Sharecare Award season, I encourage you to join us in congratulating and celebrating our winners for their incredible contributions to this industry. If you’re so inspired – like myself, our Academy of Judges, and our special friends who helped make this year’s program celebration special – check out these award-winning entries and pay it forward by sharing a little care with yourself and others this holiday season. And to everyone at Sharecare who contributed to our 2020 competition, thank you for another grand year of celebrating “sharing care.”
