Sharecare to Host Twitter Chat on Stress

Follow the Conversation and Ask Questions With #StressFreeMe on Twitter

ATLANTA, May 17, 2016 – Sharecare, a digital health and wellness engagement platform, will host a Twitter Chat about stress on Thursday, May 19, from 12 to 3 p.m. ET. Using the hashtag #StressFreeMe, medical experts from across the country will provide advice on how to manage and reduce stress.

According to the American Institute of Stress, the basic cause of 60 percent of all human illness and disease is caused by stress, and three out of four doctor’s visits are stress-related ailments. This #StressFreeMe Twitter Chat will provide people – whether in the board room or the play room – with information to lower the impact that stress can have on their health by covering the following topics:

12-1 pm: “What is Stress?” Topics during this hour will include the definition of stress, the physical and hormonal drivers, and who is at risk.

 1-2 pm: “The Effects of Stress” Topics during this hour will include how stress affects the body physically and mentally, and the short and long-term health consequences of stress.

 2-3 pm: “Stress Less” Topics during this hour include techniques to manage and lower stress such as therapy, meditation, mindfulness and digital tools.
