A Memorial Day Tribute To Army Staff Sergeant Eddie Loredo

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, I wanted to share an inspiring story from one of my Sharecare colleagues, Jennifer Loredo. As a former Army Master Sgt., she does an exceptional job overseeing the work we do with the Department of Defense to help the military community live their healthiest lives through two platforms we created specifically for them: ArmyFit for soldiers, and UltimateMe for service members and their families.

And while I’m grateful for Jennifer’s service to our country before she joined Sharecare – having served a tour in Afghanistan – what keeps Jennifer in my thoughts today is her husband, Eddie, an Army Staff Sergeant who gave his life for our country nearly five years ago while serving in Afghanistan on his fourth overseas deployment. I hope you’ll take the time to read this blog posting that Jennifer wrote one year ago about what Memorial Day means for her, and how she and her children honor Eddie’s memory. And I hope that Jennifer’s story reminds us all what this weekend is really all about: honoring those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
