Ami Patel is chief legal and compliance officer at Sharecare, the digital health company helping people manage all their health in one place, where she is responsible for the legal affairs of the entire company, and provides legal counsel to the senior leadership team, including chairman and CEO Jeff Arnold.

Previously, Patel spent more than 16 years providing legal counsel at McKesson Corporation, where she most recently served as assistant general counsel for the organization’s Corporate IT and Technology interests. In this role, she served as lead counsel and trusted adviser to the CIO/CTO and chief information security officer, and worked cross-functionally and globally with client stakeholders to provide legal counsel and transactional support to various organizations. Regularly structuring and negotiating deals with the largest technology and IT outsourcing vendors in the world within a highly regulated and ever-changing healthcare industry, Patel performed post-close IT legal and sourcing/vendor management assessment diligence for McKesson’s largest acquisition – Celesio AG – and served as special legal advisor to that division’s CIO and European IT leadership team.

Prior to joining McKesson, Patel served as general counsel and vice president of the Sterling Hotel Management Group, LLC, in St. Augustine, Florida, where she was responsible for all company-wide legal matters. Before Sterling, she was an attorney with King and Spalding in Atlanta, and prior to that she served as a law clerk for Judge Stacey W. Cotton in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, N.D. Georgia.

Patel earned her law degree from the University of Florida, and her B.A. in literature from the University of Miami. She also studied at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England, where she completed a program in comparative literature and classics.
