Driving innovation in employee well-being: Insights from the Business Group on Health 2023 Annual Conference
Last month, I had the pleasure of speaking on stage at the Business Group on Health 2023 annual conference with Dr. Pascal Goldschmidt, chief medical officer at Lennar, and Melissa Kelly, director of benefits at Lennar, in a thought-provoking panel discussion. Our conversation — “Building the Ideal Approach to Employee Well-being Through Culture and Benefits” – centered around the innovative ways Lennar Homes has transformed employee health and well-being in the wake of the pandemic.
Lennar’s holistic strategy, informed by research and real-life experiences, has made significant investments in optimizing health and well-being for their employees. Key takeaways from our discussion highlighted the importance of:
- Focusing on the whole person, considering all aspects of well-being including physical, mental, and emotional well-being;
- Extending well-being efforts to the community and fostering a supportive environment for all; and
- Engaging the hard-to-reach employees with innovative solutions to improve physical well-being, including challenges, digital therapeutics, and virtual reality (VR) solutions.
Speaking of innovating benefits through VR, one particularly exciting aspect of our work with Lennar is our Get Active pilot program. Designed to help employers encourage exercise among their workforces in a fun, approachable, and accessible way, Sharecare’s Get Active program utilizes the immersive power of virtual reality and yielded strong results for both healthy and high-risk associates at Lennar.
The interest in our presentation at the Business Group on Health annual conference and our ongoing partnership with Lennar serve as a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation in the pursuit of better well-being for all. I am continually inspired by Lennar’s commitment to employee health and look forward to our future collaborations as we work together to create happier, healthier workplaces.
