Advancing health together: Highlights from Sharecare’s fast break to Miami
At Sharecare, we know that real progress in health and well-being is achieved through inspired collaboration. That’s why we were honored to recently host a handful of our employer partners – who are leading the way in transforming how individuals and communities experience health – at an intimate gathering, aptly titled Fast Break to Miami.
As our company’s name suggests, sharing is caring – and we were so inspired by the purpose-driven experience, we thought it was worth highlighting the key takeaways we’re carrying forward:
- True collaboration informs future development: Set against a backdrop of relaxing and festive excursions that exemplify South Beach (instead of a stuffy conference room), clients engaged in both one-on-one and group discussions with members of our leadership team to provide input on Sharecare’s strategic roadmap for the next year (and, in many cases, beyond) – and their thoughtful insights will help shape the next generation of Sharecare solutions. This kind of dialogue is essential to verify that our innovation priorities remain aligned with our clients’ goals, operational realities, and the evolving needs of their members; and likewise, is critical to ensure that our future offerings are relevant, practical, and grounded in the real-world needs of the employers, health plans, and communities we serve.
- Peer-to-peer knowledge exchange is invaluable: Across the curated experiences, participants had the opportunity to connect with other industry leaders and a few members of Sharecare’s Client Advisory Board. These peer-to-peer discussions facilitated shared learning and sparked new ideas around strategy, building champion networks, implementation, and impact.
- Community-driven health engagement steps into the spotlight: We also shared learnings from community engagement initiatives, and how organizations can leverage community to foster buy-in and drive outcomes among their populations. As part of this, we presented a case study of a bespoke program we designed for one of our longest running clients to activate population-level participation through friendly competition. The success of this program, which is still in progress, demonstrates how innovation and community are mutually inclusive, and, when in alignment, make health more accessible and impactful.
- Integration is essential to create a simplified experience and demonstrate ROI: Interoperability continues to be a top priority as organizations seek to deliver more personalized and connected care journeys, and better understand which combinations of programs are driving outcomes for the right cohorts of individuals. Employers, in particular, are looking for solutions that make it easier to navigate benefits and access care, not only for the individuals they serve, but also for internal teams and consultant partners. Because we integrate so many components and partners in a material way, Sharecare is ideally positioned to meet this growing demand for platforms that bring fragmented systems and services into a single, cohesive experience. And through our research-backed and causal methods to measure return on investment for our clients, we show thousands of dollars of savings, per participant annually.
Looking Ahead
As we continue to evolve our platform and programs, we are guided by insights and experiences from those across the ecosystem – employers, consultants, health plans, and community leaders – who are working every day to make health more accessible, more effective, and more human. Further, we remain committed to co-creating the future of health alongside our clients and partners who inspire us daily with their thoughtful, innovative strategies to advance access to care, drive engagement, and deliver meaningful outcomes for their populations.
This strategically designed gathering gave us a unique opportunity to listen, learn, and align with the priorities of the organizations we serve. As I reflect on the meaningful discussions, whether formal or informal, I am steadfast in my belief that, together, we are simplifying access to high-quality care, reducing the burden of chronic conditions, and fostering a new generation of health engagement that meets people where they are and helps them get to where they want to be.
It’s in that spirit that we welcome others to join us in this work, whether it’s for a similar event in the future or one-on-one to unpack your organization’s health and well-being needs and opportunities.
