Sharecare participates in national discussion in D.C. on supporting military and Veteran caregivers
This month, Sharecare joined leaders from across healthcare, philanthropy, and advocacy at the Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s 2026 Annual National Convening in Washington, D.C., to discuss how organizations can better support military and Veteran caregivers.
As part of the plenary session, Partners in Action: A Call to Action, Sharecare’s COO Tim Husted joined representatives from the Elizabeth Dole Foundation and other national organizations to discuss the foundation’s National Blueprint for Action and share examples of caregiver-focused programs already making an impact. The discussion centered on four key areas highlighted in the Blueprint: emotional and mental well-being, economic mobility, support for caregiving youth, and building stronger community-based support systems for military and Veteran families.
During the conversation, Tim reflected on the growth of Sharecare’s Veteran caregiving program, delivered through CareLinx, which has now surpassed 1 million hours of VA-funded home care delivered to Veterans. The program was initially developed in collaboration with the VA Geriatrics and Extended Care team, Red Duke Strategies, and the Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s Hidden Heroes initiative to address barriers to trusted in-home care.
His remarks also explored the economic realities many caregivers face, highlighting how Sharecare creates pathways for family caregivers to become paid professionals, which helps strengthen both Veteran outcomes and caregiver financial stability, while reinforcing the broader network of care and support systems available to Veterans in their homes and communities.
As the national conversation around military and Veteran caregiving continues – and as Sharecare observed Memorial Day this week – we’re proud of our team’s efforts to support Veterans and their families by expanding access to trusted caregivers, and strengthening care models that recognize caregivers as essential members of the Veteran care team.
