JoAnn Shaw, LPN

President, Wisconsin Association of Licensed Practical Nurses; Vice President, National Association of Licensed Practical Nurses

Graduated from Lakeshore Technical Institute January 1973 and received her LPN License.

Appointed By the Wisconsin Board of Nursing, to serve on the Wisconsin LPN Examining Council for a 3-year term. She served total of 6 years.

Served on the Rasmussen College Advisory Board to start a new Nursing program.

Served on the Wisconsin Center for Nursing Board of Directors for many years, just recently gave her position to another Wisconsin LPN.

Joined the National Association of Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurses, INC. in 1976 and has been active since then. Currently is the NALPN Vice President.

JoAnn is the current President of the Wisconsin Association of LPNs (State Chapter of NALPN)

Work History:

1973-2001: Employed at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, Wisconsin (long term care, acute hospital, ER, CCU, Med-Surg) was instrumental in helping start their Oncology wing in 1984.)

2001-2002: Employed at Menno Haven Chambersburg, Pennsylvania (Dementia Unit, LTC unit, and MSD coordinator for Therapy Department)

2022-current: Rivers Bend Health Services Manitowoc, Wisconsin

Received 30-40 CEUs annually regarding healthcare issues.

Certifications in Gerontology, IV Therapy, Wound care, Mental health First Aid, and End of Life.
