Henry Jay serves as general counsel and compliance officer at Sharecare, where he oversees the company’s legal affairs, including commercial transactions, labor and employment law, development law, litigation, and corporate and regulatory compliance. His role at Sharecare combines two of his passions – technology and healthcare – and allows him to continue to advance his goals of helping the community be better and healthier.

Jay brings more than 20 years of experience in business and law to Sharecare, including extensive healthcare and commercial transaction experience. Prior to Sharecare, Jay served as Associate General Counsel to Healthways, Inc., where he provided healthcare regulatory and commercial transactional counsel. Prior to that, Jay performed a series of roles with increasing legal responsibilities for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina where his areas of practice included complex contract negotiations, commercial transactions, corporate law, intellectual property, technology and software, healthcare, insurance, privacy, and real property transactions.

Jay began his legal career in the public interest sector at Legal Aid of North Carolina, where he was a zealous advocate for consumer protection and continues to serve on non-profit boards and volunteers to advocate for the legal and healthcare rights of citizens.

A native of North Carolina, Jay earned a bachelor’s degree and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
