Sharecare’s Award-Winning AskMD Pre-Loaded On the New ZTE Grand X 3 With Cricket Wireless
AskMD’s Pre-Load on Android Platform Expands Sharecare’s Partnership With ZTE USA and Cricket For a Happier, Healthier Connected Future
ATLANTA, January 5, 2016 — Sharecare, the digital health and wellness engagement platform founded by Dr. Mehmet Oz and Jeff Arnold, today announced at CES® 2016 that its award-winning app, AskMD, will be pre-loaded on the Android platform. Available on the new ZTE Grand X 3 smartphone previewed today and soon available with Cricket Wireless, AskMD helps you find out what’s possibly causing your health symptoms; enables you to have better doctor’s visits; and gets you organized and, ultimately, healthier.
“In 2016, innovation in healthcare is going to be driven by strategic partnerships between leading players across the mobile communications ecosystem – much like the one we have enjoyed for the last year with ZTE and Cricket,” said Toni Pashley, vice president of Product of Sharecare. “Having AskMD – quite literally – at the fingertips of every Cricket customer who buys a ZTE Grand X 3 is an important step toward empowering people in this era of consumer-driven healthcare.”
With its large HD screen, quad-core processing power, long-lasting battery and expandable storage, the ZTE Grand X 3 fully pre-loaded with AskMD makes it easier than ever for Cricket customers to manage their health. With its crystal clear presentation of AskMD’s animation and graphics, the ZTE Grand X 3 literally shows you what vitals such as height, weight, cholesterol, blood pressure and other conditions mean to your overall health. Additionally, you can use the ZTE Grand X 3 to upload photos or videos directly to AskMD to keep for your records or share with a physician.
“The ZTE Grand X 3 delivers not only on what consumers want most from an affordable premium smartphone, but also on what they want most in their lives – better health for themselves, their family and friends,” said Jeff Yee, VP of technology planning and partnerships of ZTE USA. “As the first smartphone supplier to fully pre-load Sharecare’s AskMD, our commitment to providing consumers with technology they value and use while also fostering a better connected future for everyone has never been stronger.”

AskMD provides you with information that’s actually relevant to you by guiding you through a personalized questionnaire that takes into account all your symptoms and other factors, like medications and known conditions, and matching your answers against the latest clinical research. Bottom line, AskMD takes the guesswork out of getting better and being well. AskMD also enables Cricket Wireless customers using the ZTE Grand X 3 to:
- Identify emergency situations and get directions to the closest Emergency Room
- Catalog health information one might need on a daily basis, such as medications, insurance information, and contact details for all doctors and specialists
- Care for family and friends by allowing for the creation of multiple health profiles in the app
- Find a physician or specialist qualified to treat symptoms or condition by area map or list, which also can be filtered by insurance, specialty and distance
- Organize information about symptoms quickly and easily, including a summary of results and relevant details, which can be easily accessed, printed or shared privately from the app
Since AskMD’s initial launch in December 2013, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) has been the preferred health system sponsor for the app, providing users access to thousands of physicians affiliated with the health system’s local facilities throughout the country. HCA, which is one of the nation’s leading providers of healthcare services and is responsible for more than 20 million patient encounters annually, has 165 hospitals and 116 surgery centers in 20 states and England. On the ZTE Grand X 3, HCA facilities are presented in AskMD depending on the user’s location, enabling patients to connect with appropriate caregivers nearby.
The AskMD app for Android, launched on Google Play in December 2014, is compatible with devices running Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and higher. AskMD also is available for iPhone and Apple Watch on the App Store, and can be accessed via the web at www.sharecare.com/askmd.
AskMD on the ZTE Grand X 3 will be on display at CES® 2016 in the ZTE Corporation booth, #31706 in South Hall 3 of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
