Atlanta, December 16, 2014 – Sharecare, a comprehensive online health and wellness engagement platform founded by Dr. Mehmet Oz and Jeff Arnold, today announced that it won two Web Health Awards in the 2014 Summer/Fall competition. Held twice each year – Winter/Spring and Summer/Fall — the Web Health Awards recognizes the nation’s best digital health resources, selected by a panel of health technology professionals.
In the Consumer Website category, Sharecare earned a Bronze Web Health Award for its predictive and personalized engagement platform that provides people with resources to help them live their healthiest lives. After a user shares information about their health status and habits with Sharecare – which uses that information to create a comprehensive health profile – they can access all of their health resources in one place, and dynamically connect to the knowledge, evidence-based programs and health professionals they need.
Also bringing home a Bronze Web Health Award in the Mobile Application category is Sharecare’s AskMD, which helps you collect information about your symptoms, learn more about common causes, and connect you to the doctors and specialists qualified to treat them. This free app helps you get organized around your health, enabling you to have a more productive doctor’s visit and ultimately get better. AskMD is available for free download on the App Store and from Google Play.
The Web Health Awards program is organized by the Health Information Resource Center. Using a rating scale of 1 to 100 points, a panel of health technology professionals reviewed entries based on content, format, success in reaching the targeted health audience and overall quality. This year, there were more than 600 entries.
