Sharecare Adds Key Executives To Aggressively Scale Integrated Population Health Platform Globally

Salesforce Veteran Carlos Ferraro Cavallini and Medical Tech Industry Executive Dave Springer Join Digital Health Company’s Leadership Team

ATLANTA, April 18, 2017 – Sharecare, the digital health company helping people manage all their health in one place, today announced it is continuing to expand its leadership team with the addition of two new executives: Carlos Ferraro Cavallini of Salesforce and medical industry veteran Dave Springer.

Most recently head of enterprise architecture for Latin America and the Caribbean at Salesforce, where he worked for six years, Carlos Ferraro Cavallini joins Sharecare as senior vice president of business-to-business technologies. In this newly created role, Carlos is responsible for leading the design and implementation of an integrated vendor exchange to enable partners to incorporate existing solutions – such as wellness incentive programs – into Sharecare so that they and their users can use one streamlined platform to manage their health efficiently. Fluent in four languages with a Master of Science in Computer Science, Carlos previously held senior roles in various disciplines from big data to analytics and security at technology companies, including TIBCO Software. With his unique expertise, Carlos will also play a critical role in helping Sharecare scale its platform outside the United States, starting with the company’s Brazil-based joint venture with SulAmérica Serviços de Saúde S.A., a subsidiary of the largest independent insurer in Brazil, SulAmérica S.A. (BM&FBovespa: SULA11), which came into the company’s portfolio as part of its 2016 acquisition of Healthways.

“Sharecare’s passion for leveraging innovation to make populations healthier, happier and more productive isn’t limited to the American healthcare system, and we are excited to embark on expanding into Brazil through our joint venture with our partner, SulAmérica,” said Jeff Arnold, founder, chairman and CEO of Sharecare. “With Carlos helping to drive that effort, especially given his technological – and cultural – competence, we are forging a clear path to help SulAmérica’s members leverage one comprehensive platform putting all their health in one place, and make a positive impact on the health of Brazil.

Additionally, Dave Springer joins Sharecare as president of Ornish Lifestyle Medicine™, which also became part of Sharecare through the Healthways acquisition. The first and only scientifically-proven program to reverse the progression of heart disease, and reimbursable by Medicare and other health plans, Ornish Lifestyle Medicine’s content, tools and resources are being integrated into the unified Sharecare platform. Simultaneously, Dave – leveraging his extensive experience in cardiology medical devices including running the United States brand of St. Jude Medical’s comprehensive products – will focus on enabling leading hospitals and cardiology practices to offer the Ornish program to their patients. Most recently, Dave was president and CEO of Cayenne Medical, a sports medicine orthopedic company acquired by Zimmer Biomet, where Dave was appointed to oversee the $300 million sports medicine division. Earlier in his career, Dave was part of the management team at Quality Diagnostic Services (QDS), Jeff Arnold’s first company. After selling QDS to Matria Healthcare, Arnold founded WebMD, where he tapped Dave to build and lead the sales organization, which rapidly grew to over $1 billion in revenue in less than two years.

“Since acquiring Ornish Lifestyle Medicine last year, I’ve seen firsthand how life-changing – and saving – Dr. Dean Ornish’s protocol is for those who follow it, and, particularly as we integrate it into the Sharecare platform, there is a significant opportunity to help exponentially more people than we do today as physicians can continue their patients’ care through a digital connection,” said Arnold. “That’s where Dave comes in – his track record of generating new market opportunities that maximize the potential of medical innovations speaks for itself, and I’m confident he’ll do the same for the Ornish program as cardiologists and other physicians seek new, non-invasive models to take better care of their populations.”
