Anil Menon

EVP, Community & Urban Services

Anil Menon is executive vice president of community and urban services at Sharecare, the digital health company that helps people manage all their health in one place. In this role, he and his team work with a range of global urban services partners to develop new tools and solutions that integrate community health outcomes into infrastructure investments and smart city solutions to drive individual and societal prosperity.

Menon’s career spans strategic leadership of business initiatives at some of the world’s largest companies, advisory roles to world leaders, and various roles in academia. Until September 2022, he served as Senior Advisor to former HRH The Prince of Wales on Sustainable Markets. Before joining Sharecare, Menon served in multiple roles at the World Economic Forum, including managing director, member of the managing board, and senior adviser to the chairman.

Prior to the World Economic Forum, Menon shepherded major expansion initiatives at Cisco and IBM. At Cisco, Menon served as global president of the Smart+Connected Communities division and as deputy chief globalization officer.

Before Cisco, Menon held multiple global functional roles at IBM, including chief marketing and strategy officer for the company’s global hardware business. He also served on the IBM Strategy Team, which advised the CEO on overall business and investment strategy.

Menon was previously a tenured professor on the graduate faculty at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. Menon’s doctoral dissertation was funded by, and conducted at, the Strategic Planning Institute in Cambridge, MA, an international research and consulting think tank established at the Harvard Business School. He also served as a Sony Fellow with the Sony Corporation from 1993 to 1996.

He is a recipient of the American Marketing Association’s Alpha Kappa Psi/Sheth award for academic research with the biggest impact on the practice of marketing. He was also awarded the Academy of Marketing Science’s Distinguished Practitioner award for his brand strategy work at IBM.  He has served on the board of Coca-Cola Company’s Technology Incubator, Fizzion, on Citibank India’s board of advisors, and as a trustee of The New Cities Foundation.

In addition to his role at Sharecare, Menon will continue to serve on the board of directors for the Center for Customer Insights at the Yale School of Management, Center for Global Health Innovation in Atlanta, and as an industry adviser and affiliate faculty member at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and MIT Senseable City Lab.

Menon is married and the proud father of two daughters. He collects 19th century Baluchi carpets and Edison cylinder phonographs and records from 1890s-1910s.
