Anil Menon is executive vice president of community and urban services at Sharecare, the digital health company that helps people manage all their health in one place. In this role, he and his team work with a range of global urban services partners to develop new tools and solutions that integrate community health outcomes into infrastructure investments and smart city solutions to drive individual and societal prosperity. He is also currently a senior adviser to HRH The Prince of Wales, Sustainable Markets.
Menon’s career spans strategic leadership of business initiatives at some of the world’s largest companies, advisory roles to world leaders, and various roles in academia. Before joining Sharecare, Menon was a senior adviser to the chairman of the World Economic Forum.
Prior to the World Economic Forum, Menon shepherded major expansion initiatives at Cisco and IBM. At Cisco, Menon served as global president of the Smart+Connected Communities division, where he was a key leader of Cisco’s Internet of Things business during its incubation and growth within the company. Menon also served as deputy chief globalization officer, leading international expansion efforts to increase the company’s employee base from around 1,200 to more than 13,000 employees from 2009 to 2016.
At IBM, Menon held multiple global functional roles, ranging from chief marketing and strategy officer for IBM’s global hardware business to managing IBM’s transition from a hardware brand to a business technology brand. He also served on IBM’s strategy team, which helped the company’s CEO set overall business and investment strategy.
Before joining IBM, Menon was a tenured professor on the graduate faculty at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and holds PhDs in marketing strategy and multivariate statistics. Menon’s doctoral dissertation was funded by, and conducted at, the Strategic Planning Council in Cambridge, MA, an international research and consulting think tank established at the Harvard Business School.
Menon is an independent board member of Orbia, a Mexican industrial group. He is a member of HRH Prince of Wales’ Council for Sustainable Markets Initiative, on the board of directors for the Center for Customer Insights at the Yale University School of Management, and a trustee of The New Cities Foundation. He has also served on the board of Coca-Cola Company’s Technology Incubator, Fizzion, and on Citibank India’s board of advisers.
Menon is married and has two children. He lives in Atlanta.
