Celebrating Earth Day and over 750,000 trees planted by our team since 2016
When we take care of the planet, we take care of each other.
The consequences of failing to respect our shared home have a measured impact on our health and well-being: pollution can cause heart disease, respiratory illness, and even some types of cancer. Moreover, sustainability can support well-being. In fact, according to Sharecare’s Community Well-Being Index, there is a strong relationship between communities’ rankings for well-being and sustainable development.
This Earth Day, Sharecare is proud to celebrate the continued strides we’ve made in partnership with our clients and the Accelerated Restorative Collaborative (ARC), a nonprofit dedicated to scalable solutions for sociological and environmental challenges that has planted over 1 billion trees worldwide. As we strive towards our mission to help improve care quality, drive better outcomes, and lower costs, we’ve also integrated our business goals with sustainability practices.
To minimize waste, 80% of our medical records are delivered electronically today, and we consciously print on both sides of paper for a large percentage of the medical records we physically deliver. But beyond cutting down on waste, we’ve supported a greener future through our reforestation efforts for a decade.
The average tree produces 8,333 pages of paper. Since 2016, Sharecare has sponsored the planting of two trees in place of every single tree worth of physical paper medical records processed by our team. Through the end of Q1 2026, we’re proud to report that Sharecare has helped plant more than 753,000 trees based on the processing of nearly 3.1 billion pages of medical records on behalf of our clients.
We’re grateful our commitment to sharing care with our planet is a value strongly shared by clients of our medical records line of business — providers, practices, health systems, and health plans. Through quarterly reporting and transparent tracking, our client partners can see the direct environmental impact tied to their records processing and celebrate their progress towards shared goals around the responsible use of resources.
Together, we’re not only reducing paper consumption, but contributing to reforestation efforts that restore ecosystems and support communities around the world.
As we celebrate Earth Day this year, Sharecare remains committed to actions that align with the global call to protect our planet. Through meaningful partnerships and sustainable initiatives, we will continue to invest in a healthier, greener future.
Happy Earth Day from all of us at Sharecare.
